Job Description:

Work in a surgical unit with a wide range of patient diagnoses and surgical procedures. Key responsibilities include managing patient care, interpreting dysrhythmias, and using rapid response teams.

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care for adult medical surgical and surgical stepdown patients
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage patient care accordingly
• Use rapid response teams as needed
• Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines
• Provide wound care and manage surgical drains
• Apply isolation precautions and manage nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 2 years of surgical unit experience
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIH
    
    Schedule:
    
    • 12 HR NIGHTS, 36 or 48 hours accepted
    • 7 days MAX RTO
    • Float and weekend requirements may apply
      
      Unit Information:
      
      • Ratios: 1:6 for floor for surgical/medicine inpatient patients
      • Patient diagnoses: Cellulitis, Appendicitis, Cholecystitis, Diverticulitis, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Gun Shots, Stabbings, Falls, Various Cancers, Kidney Stones, Bowel Obstruction, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Limb Ischemia, Hernia, Gangrene
      • Surgical procedures: Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Hernia Repair, TURP, Ostomy Creation or Closure, Wound Debridement, Tumor Removal, Kidney Stone Removal, Amputations, Fem Pop Bypass
